Bootie-licious baby...

Don't you want your baby to be bootie-licious?  Not to be confused with Bootylicious.  Nobody wants their baby to be that.  But bootie-licious would mean they could rock these

I can't wait to give them to my niece (Miss) tomorrow.  I am even appliqueing (hey that's a real word...neat) a onesie to match.  I think she'll love it.  But she's only 7 months.  She loves everything.

I think in this case, "light blue trim with puffs" and "licous" are synonymous.
I took the easy way out on that and just hot glued it on.

Also Miss has teeny tiny feet so I cinched up the back so they will hopefully stay on.

Go make some and you too can have a bootie-licous baby.

Gi' me some oriGAMI...

I know.  Bad title.  I tried to come up with something cute for this one, but I just couldn't.  BUT the clips are cute!  I got the tutorial here.

I have no idea how you say Hana Kanzashi but that is what these little beauties are called.  Mmmm...makes me think of Kashi.  Yum.  Now I'm hungry. What was I saying.  Oh, so on the backs I just used clips from old barrettes.  That way I didn't have to go out and buy anything!  This is such a great way to use your fabric scraps.  And come on...why do we hang on to those little pieces?   I'm not the only one right?  Right?

Anyway, what I love about this tutorial is that you can do it in front of the boob tube...(seriously who came up with that nickname...I doubt the inventor of the tv would appreciate it).  Oh yeah, I'm a tv girl.  Loves me some good shows.  Like LOST (tear), The Office (double tear, no more Michael after this year), 24 (so many tears), Grey's Anatomy, Friends re-runs...I could go on and on.  Holy distractions batman.  Lets get back to the clips....um nothing left to say.  Go make some!

Fall is in the air...

and I thank God I get to stay home with my own kids instead of getting ready for 20+ kids.  I love to teach, but I love my kids way more!

Lady Loo is getting ready to start Kindergarten.  Ouch.  Momma is NOT ready.  So we have been distracting...me...by getting school supplies and figuring out what Lady Loo will wear on her first day of school and what to give the teacher to butter her up.  Yeah, I'm that mom.  My daddy taught me how to be a very good suck up.  Not one who slathers it on, but one who gives presents and compliments.  I like to think I suck up gracefully.  It's a skill.  It's on my resume.  Not really.

So while I tell Lady Loo that it's so kind to give gifts, I'm also teaching her that generosity CAN go a long way.  It's a perk so to speak.  Plus God totally loves kindness...but maybe not for self gratification.  Either way, isn't this idea precious?

We have it all ready to take for the first day!  Go here to get the free download.  I heart free everything...except advice.  I don't heart free advice.  Keep it to yourself people.

Now go butter up the teacher.  It's what all of the cool kids are doing.

What's Black and White and Red all over?

My pretty new bedroom, that's what.  I got a soft, gorgeous red chair from Pier One for my bedroom.  Apparently people use these chairs for their dining room.  Ehem...must be nice to be rich.  Well I had **just** enough money for one chair and I was a happy girl.  That's all I needed...until that's not all I needed.  The chair just looked empty.  So I just had to make a cute pillow.
Looks ok right?  A bit lumpy but that's fine.  I'm a bit lumpy too.

I love this area of my room.  That book is Jane Eyre from Anthropology.  So pretty yet such DRY reading.  I probably won't ever read it.  It's just a prop now.

I got the pillow tutorial here.  If I could re-do my whole house, it would look like the Smith house.  So perfectly perfect.  Even her laundry room is pretty.  How does someone go about making their laundry room pretty?  It makes my brain hurt to even think about.  I'm just lucky if I don't have clothes strewn about.

You should go make the pillow.  Easy and pretty.  And cheap...especially nice if you spent all of your money on a Pier One "dining" chair.

My friend loves the staches...

I have this friend...

who LOVES mustaches.  It's true.  In fact I think she should name her next child Stachley.  Really...it could totally work for a boy or a girl!  Think about it Joy.  You know you love it.  Are you wondering where I'm going with this?  Ok, here goes...Because she loves THESE so much, I just HAD to make her this....

Oh yeah.  That's a bib for her baby boy!  Don't you just love it?  I got the idea here.  GENIUS!  I am pretty sure this is the coolest thing I've made thus far.  I bet you are going to go make one RIGHT now.  It's just too fun to pass up.  Not to mention it only takes 10 minutes to make.  Perfect for one of those days where the kids don't "feel like" napping.

And of course I couldn't pass up these fingerstaches.  I didn't make those...but if I had, I would be sitting in Kaui right now relishing in the profit from my ingenuity.  I mean obviously anyone who comes up with a fingerstache is living the high life.  Smart...super smart.  Glad you loved them Joy!

Etsy has my heart...

Well Craftgossip is having a super fun giveaway involving my guilty pleasure...etsy.  They are giving $100 away to 3 lucky bloggers.  If you haven't heard of etsy, then you also probably have lots of bumper stickers on your truck and chew with your mouth open and let your dog rub his butt on your carpet (and other things I hate!)  Haha!  I kid I kid!  But seriously if you haven't heard of etsy you are missing out!  Here are a few things I covet...

(I would use this to make a valance in my kitchen)
(I would use this to make a runner for my new black dining table)
(These would just look so pretty on my new table)
(I would use this to make Mr. Man a guitar applique shirt)
(I just think this is such a cute idea...and she's Lady Loo's favorite princess.)

(I would use this for a towel hook in my kitchen)

TOTAL = $86.50 (before shipping)

Did you know there is an e at the end of barrette?

Whoa!  My mind is blown.  My foundation is rocked.  Why in the world is there a silent e at the end of barrette...and there are 2 t's AND 2 r's.  How is a girl supposed to google a word if there are THREE silent letters???

Whatever... Ok, here is how you make those cute ribbon curled barrettes (cork bows? or korker bows?) that you see in all of the trendy clothing shops. Like that one that sounds like Bimboree...you know what I'm talking about.  Or that one that rhymes with Maybe Nap.  Yeah those places.  Now you too can make cute barRetTEs that don't cost $8-$10.  Have fun!

Silhouettes...yes I had to google that to spell it correctly

These are my babies' silhouettes.  Now that I know how to spell it I kinda want to write it over and over...or maybe in all caps...or spread it out like this...SIL HOU ETTE.  It's just such a pretty word.

Could silhouette be a girl's name?  You could call her Ette...think about it.

Anyway, I got the idea of doing a SILHOUETTE here but of course I had to do my own thing.  So I put it on pretty silver paper to match my bedspread.  Then I put it in a frame.  Then I used my cricut to cut out the letter M from vinyl and stuck it on the glass on the middle frame.  Easy!

You could give a teacher an apple....

OR...you could give her/him this...

I think I know what I would choose!  I got this idea here.  Mine is not nearly as cute, but I do like the colors I picked quite a bit...sigh...damask...I <3 you.  I gave this to my bff because she just got her teaching degree!  Go C!  I figured this would look cute sitting on her very own desk.

Lace space for earrings...

I LOVE this idea! I got this plastic frame at goodwill for 38 cents and I got the lace at Joanne's for about a dollar!  My enginerd spray painted it for me (I'm terrified to use paint because I KNOW I would mess up my project).  He's such a good sport.

I would love to take credit for this fun idea, but I am not a big fat liar. So, I found it here. But as we are redoing our bedroom in black, silver and red, I made mine in black. Doesn't it look amazing in white or black?! How did she come up with this? See...this is why I'm a copycat crafter...all I do is follow the tutorials and wha la...pretty yet functional decor!

Somewhere over the rainbow...

Lady Loo Hoo wanted a rainbow party and I couldn't find a rainbow pettiskirt anywhere. So I decided to make her one! I got the idea here and sort of tweaked it so I could fit all of the colors I wanted on to it.

I used purple satin at the top and the rest is just plain old tulle.  I know it doesn't look like it, but that's because I have some shiny material underneath so she wouldn't get itchy.  It was so fun to make, I'm thinking of sewing another one!
